Welcome to SERPENT – A Student-Led Space Project
SERPENT is part of NASA and Andøya Space's GHOST MISSION, driven by a team of about 30 students from UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Narvik. Our students come from various disciplines, including satellite technology, electronics, and aerospace engineering, all working together on an exciting and innovative mission.
Our Mission
We are launching a 2U cubesat as part of GHOST MISSION. Our task is to separate it into two 1U cubesats and measure the distance between them. Beyond the technical execution, this is a critical research opportunity that will help advance future space missions. This mission will lay a foundation and prototyping for current research projects and future missions at UiT Narvik.
Why This Matters
This mission goes beyond solving a technical challenge—it’s a learning process that will provide valuable data for future satellite technology. By verifying our simulations and testing the separation mechanism, we aim to contribute to projects like QBDebris focused on reducing space debris and ensuring sustainable satellite constellations.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Our project draws on expertise across fields like electronics, aerospace engineering, and data analysis. This collaboration allows us to explore innovative solutions and contribute meaningfully to the development of future space technology.
Supporting the Future
By supporting SERPENT, you’re helping us take an important step toward advancing space exploration and fostering the next generation of engineers and researchers. Your sponsorship will have a direct impact on the success of this mission, and we hope you’ll join us on this journey.
